The Ultimate Guide to Color Correcting, with Seint Beauty
learn about color correctinG and how it works with makeup in my ultimate guide to color correcting with Seint Beauty.
Color correcting with Seint uses the basics of color theory and makeup products with different colors from the color wheel to correct (cancel, filter, cover, make go bye-bye) any color on your face you don’t want. Think blemishes, under-eye discoloration, sun/age spots, melasma, and redness.
If you are new to the technique or looking to learn more, I will be breaking down how to color correct, why it works, and my favorite products to achieve the desired results.

Why is color correcting so popular right now?

If you follow makeup and beauty trends, you will see every few years, what is popular will shift. A few years ago, full coverage, the matte foundation was all the rage, but we have swung in the opposite direction (thank you, COVID) to more natural coverage and youthful glow being on trend.
The full coverage foundation of 2016 could plaster over any discoloration we didn’t want on our faces, but this is harder to do with a more natural look.
How do we achieve this look and still cover distractions on our faces? Enter Color Correcting!
What is color theory and how does it help choose the correct color corrector?
Color theory all comes down to the color wheel and how the colors interact with each other. The part of the wheel that we want to understand for correcting is COMPLIMENTARY COLORS. Complimentary colors are across from each other on the color wheel, and the magical thing about them is they cancel each other out! See where I’m going here?
Here is a quick way to remember the complimentary colors. I didn’t create this, but it has worked well for me.

What are Demi Correctors?
Demi correctors (also called Cream Correctors) created by Seint Beauty, are tins of highly pigmented cream colors. You use the color theory of complimentary colors to correct discoloration on your face. What I love about Demi is the texture of the cream gives a truly skin-like look, and the color is also so pigmented that it takes the least amount of product.
There is a learning curve if you are starting with Demi. Most of this is learning the colors on your face because unfortunately, the color on the color wheel and our faces look much different.

what makes demi correctors BY seint different than the other options?

Many times you will see this. Someone wants to correct the purples and blues under their eyes, and they take a peach color and cover their entire under eyes with that color. Then it would be best if you covered the orange, so you don’t look like an Oompa-Loompa. This leads to more products needed to get where you want to be.
Comparatively, with Demi, you only put the product in the area you want to correct. No more Oompa-Loompa.
Other ways to color correct with Seint.
Maybe you need more time to dive into Demi Correctors. You can still use the color-correcting concepts with IIID Foundation to get the desired results.
Check out my graphic to see a few of the most common highlights that can be used to color correct.

How to get started

If don’t use IIID Foundation by Seint and want to see what colors would work best for your skin tone, get your custom color match first.
Before diving into Demi Correctors, see if trying out a different highlight color does the trick, especially if you want to even out your skin tone.
If you are ready to try Demi, focus on one area at a time instead of your whole face. so you don’t get frustrated.
let’s wrap this up in a red and green bow
